Airport Authority

The Airport is jointly owned by the City of Barrie (60%), the County of Simcoe (20%) and the Township of Oro-Medonte (20%), and is managed by a Municipal Service Corporation (Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Inc.) which is responsible for the Airport’s operation and maintenance. The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Inc. Board of Directors is comprised of nine members, five of which are City of Barrie appointees; two of which are County of Simcoe appointees and two of which are appointed by the Township of Oro-Medonte.

Lake Simcoe Regional Airport serves the City of Barrie, the City of Orillia, the Township of Oro-Medonte and the County of Simcoe. The Cities of Barrie and Orillia, combined with the Town of Midland and the Township of Oro-Medonte provide a catchment population of approximately 300,000. The County of Simcoe, including the urban areas of Barrie and Orillia, provides a catchment population of approximately 450,000. The majority of this population is within a 40 minute drive to the Airport.
