Airport Authority

The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport is a Regional Airport facility owned by the County of Simcoe (90%) and the City of Barrie (10%), and is managed by a Municipal Service Corporation (Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Inc.) which is responsible for the Airport’s operation and maintenance. The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Inc. Board is comprised of seven members, six of which are County of Simcoe appointees with one representative for the City of Barrie. 

Lake Simcoe Regional Airport serves the County of Simcoe as well as the City of Barrie and the City of Orillia. The Cities of Barrie and Orillia, combined with the Town of Midland and the Township of Oro-Medonte provide a catchment population of approximately 300,000. The County of Simcoe, including the urban areas of Barrie and Orillia, provides a catchment population of approximately 450,000. The majority of this population is within a 40 minute drive to the Airport.
